The Good News

There IS a purpose to your life! You ARE created to live in harmony with it. And when you’ve breathed your last, you’re NOT destined for eternal nothingness!

Whenever tragedy strikes, people make comments like, “I’m just glad my family are ok!” and “It’s only a house, we can replace that – but people are irreplaceable.” The single most important thing in life is relationships.  You and I were created by a relational God, specifically to enjoy relationship with Him and each other. Let’s be honest.  We all know there is something not right in humanity – our world is full of suffering, violence, and destruction.  And it’s all because of mankind’s desire to be independent from God, to put ourselves first. This is a very real dilemma as people aren’t always in the right space to be caring, gracious or whole. And sadly, this cuts us off from Him, which in light of the hope we can have in him, the absence of Him becomes the real meaning of Hell.

The way we try and fix our own lives is at times necessary, the giving we do can be good and the joy we have can be true, it’s just a step short of giving God space in our life to work at our hearts. Royal Oak has a saying “whole lives, whole communities.” In this statement we acknowledge gladly that God is gracious and longs to know us. This isn’t limited either, as he can forgive how things have been, igniting a deeper hope and understanding of life, if we turn to Him.  That’s the very good news! It was Jesus that revealed God, an outstanding fact of how God himself gave his only Son. As Jesus came, died, rose and ascended we can know of the lengths to which God wants to do life with us and how much we mean to Him.
