Who are we?

Kia Ora!

Welcome to Royal Oak Baptist Church.

We are a diverse community of people who have one thing in common: we seek the transforming work of Christ’s Gospel; in us, our whanau, our community and our world.

We recognise our need to be together more as a larger community while also ensuring we continue to find ways to put our faith into action in tangible and practical ways. If you join us on a Sunday morning you will find us opening Scripture together and trying to integrate that to ourselves and our engagement within our community. You will find us exploring various ways of worshipping Jesus together as we listen for his voice to us and obey what we corporately discern him saying to us.

Our sung worship tends to be on the first and third Sunday of the month (and fifth if there is one). We also share communion on the first week. On the second Sunday of the month we have small group conversations as part of our service so we can all learn how to read and apply the Scriptures in community. On the third Sunday of the month, we allocate more time to praying together as a way of learning how to bring the people and situations of our lives to God. On the fourth Sunday of the month we aim to have different projects within and for our local community as we express our faith in a practical way.

We’d love to meet you and share this journey of transformation we are on with you.

You are welcome to join us at 10am on Sunday mornings. Dress in what you feel comfortable wearing. You will find us to be a relaxed, down-to-earth bunch! We aim to finish our morning service around 11:30am and you are welcome to stay after the service for a barista made coffee from our cafe.

We are also proudly a part of the wider Baptist family.
